Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. In compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule, we provide detailed information about our privacy practices in our consent form packet and new patient information documentation. These documents explain under what circumstances patient information can be disclosed, what kind of consent is needed to disclose patient information and from whom, and steps to take if you have additional questions. At the beginning of services with Ehrlich Psychology, you will have the opportunity to read and discuss informed consent and privacy policy documents. Once you are an established patient, state and federal laws prohibit Ehrlich Psychology from sharing any of your personal information with anyone (with very limited exceptions). If you contact Ehrlich Psychology to determine if you would like to receive services, your information will be stored in a secure electronic medical record for no more than three weeks. After that time, if you elect not to begin services, your information will be deleted. No personally identifiable information will be shared with anyone, unless it meets the narrow criteria put forth by state and federal laws regarding mandated reporters. Per Florida Administrative Procedures Act Chapter 64B19-19.003, Ehrlich Psychology is required to retain complete psychological records for a minimum of 3 years after the completion of planned services or the date of last contact with the user, whichever occurs later in time. Either the complete record or a summary of those records must be retained for an additional 4 years. All data is maintained using a fully HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record that is password protected and uses industry-standard encryption. You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services. Your continued use of this website will be regarded as acceptance of our practices around privacy and personal information. If you have any questions about how we handle user data and personal information, feel free to contact us.
